The Munich-born pianist Carolin Danner plays concerts both as a soloist and a chamber musician in important concert halls as Heidelberg concert hall, Allerheiligen Hofkirche Munich and Liederhalle Stuttgart. She was invited to play at festivals and with Orchestras like the Philharmonie Südwestphalen and the Philharmonic Orchestra Budweis.
Carolin Danner received prizes in national and international competitions, including the international piano competitions ” Un ricetto in musica ” in Candelo , “Palma d’Oro” in Finale Ligure and the „Mozart“ piano Competition in Frascati (Rome). She has received fellowships from the Leopold-Mozart-Kuratorium Augsburg, the Villa Musica Foundation of Rhineland-Palatinate, the Festival Oberstdorf Music Summer and the Foundation Live Music Now. Carolin Danner completed her piano studies with a postgraduate soloist diploma („Meisterklassendiplom“) at the University of Music in Würzburg, her teachers were Hans-Peter Stenzl, Silke-Thora Matthies and Christine Olbrich. Alongside her studies, Carolin Danner received important artistic inspirations in master classes for piano and chamber music with Igor Zhukov and Menahem Pressler.
Carolin Danner has published two solo recordings – „Spanische Impressionen“ (2014) and „Kontrastprogramm“ (2017), both with the record label Animato – which were appraised by the „Hessischer Rundfunk“ and received outstanding rewievs in renowned media like Fonoforum, Pianonews, neue musikzeitung, Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandradio Kultur.
Carolin Danner is the artistic director of the music festivals „Klassiksommer Blutenburg“ and “Klassikwinter Blutenburg” in Munich. From 2011 to 2018 she has taught piano at the College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education in Regensburg. Since 2018 she has her own piano class at the musical Center „Leopold Mozart“ at University of Augsburg.
